The Library is the heart of the institution. It is to promote sharing of resources by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering computerized services to the users. Institutions of higher education have the main responsibilities of equipping students, researchers and faculty with advanced knowledge and skills. Well-equipped and managed library is an essential prerequisite to achieve this. In particular, scientific research needs a library as well as its laboratories. Keeping this in view, the S.I.V.E.T. College Library undertakes many responsibilities and performs varied functions and it plays a vital role in the university education and research by providing invaluable resource of knowledge.
The S.I.V.E.T. College Library was established in 1966 along with 250 books. Our library had a humble beginning and over these 50 years its growth has been phenomenal and transformed from “book-only” library to a modern “digital library” with invaluable Collection of e-resources to cater to the increasing information requirements of the U.G. and P.G. and research students.
Spread over about 2,000 square feet library is home to about 47,000 books. Endowed with a first floor that houses a portion of the library’s book racks, the library is provides a lovely ambience to sit and read.
